For the first time, Railway Track & Structures magazine has announced the top 10 list of Women in Railway Engineering. We are thrilled to announce that our very own Louisa Stanlake, Consumables Technology Manager, is on the list.

Louisa joined L.B. Foster in 2010 as a research chemist and grew into her current role over the years in which she leads a team of chemists within the Rail Technologies and Services department. As a team, they have developed several greases and friction modifiers for wheel/rail friction management in freight and transit railroads.

“Louisa is an incredible asset to our company. As we innovate and develop new equipment and dispensing technologies for gauge face greases and top of rail friction modifiers, Louisa leads the charge to ensure our consumable development and innovation keep pace. To that end, and from time to time, she and her team create new consumables that necessitate design changes to the equipment and dispensing applicators,” said Greg Lippard, SVP of Rail.

Adding on, Korhan Ciloglu, Director of Technology at L.B. Foster, mentioned, “Louisa has been an instrumental member of our team since she joined us in 2010. Besides her success as a professional, she has also been active in volunteering in her community, encouraging young girls to pursue STEM careers by participating in different organizations as a mentor and speaker. Congratulations to Louisa on her well-deserved recognition by the RT&S magazine. We look forward to witnessing her contributions to the industry and her community in the future.”

Louisa is also a member and liaison of Spark, a women’s initiative at L.B. Foster that empowers and encourages the development and growth of women globally at the Company.

Congratulations to Louisa for being recognized and helping keep our world moving with the incredible work she does every day.
