PITTSBURGH, Nov. 5, 2009 - L.B. Foster Company (Nasdaq: FSTR) of Pittsburgh, PA, has announced a newly formed joint venture between three partners, Kentucky-based Lally Pipe & Tube, L.B. Foster and industry veteran, Jim Legg. Together the three partners have formed LB Pipe & Coupling Products, LLC, to manufacture couplings and accessories for the water well, oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and American Petroleum Institute (API) markets. LB Pipe & Coupling Products will occupy a manufacturing facility currently under construction in Magnolia, TX. The Texas facility is scheduled to be operational in January 2010.
The new operation will install the latest technology available to manufacture high quality precision couplings. "L.B. Foster is pleased to team with Lally in building this exciting joint venture. (November 12, 2008 - Houston, TX) L.B. Foster Threaded Products has provided Modern Pump & Equipment of Millerstown, PA, with a customizes pipe requirement and accessories for a deepwell vertical turbine pump for a coal mine de-watering application with a 750' setting. L.B. Foster fabricated flanged columns using 8”, sch. 40, A53B, ERW plain end pipe pulled from standard inventory at their Houston facility. Specialty flanges were welded and machined to each end of the pipe. 3/16” rubber lining was then applied to the inner diameter of the pipe column and 16 mils of protective coal tar epoxy was coated onto the outer diameter. L.B. Foster Threaded Products also supplied various accessories including tube and shaft assemblies. |
